WESTERN RED CEDAR

Aesthetically, there really is no substitute for the natural beauty of Real Cedar. It's pitch and resin-free which means it can hold a wide range of beautiful finishes. While other building materials generate greenhouse gasses, western red cedar actually removes greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere and it's a renewable resource that's biodegradable.

ALASKAN YELLOW CEDAR

This species of tree is native to the coastal regions of northwest North America. The species is also considered one of the finest timber trees in the world and is commonly used for flooring, interior finish and shipbuilding. It offers good stability, and like other cedars is resistant to the effects of of weathering and insects. This species is a beautiful pale/light yellow.

WESTERN HEMLOCK

Western Hemlock has a straight even grain and is a fine texture. This wood is fairly easily worked as it machines and sands well. It's also very hard and has a great strength to it. The colour of Western Hemlock is pink/brown in colour and can hold stain very well. This high-grade softwood is great for providing a natural colour for the interiors or exteriors of build.

Typically a pale gray-brown, in colour sometimes with a red/purple hue. hue, this species is extremely easy to work with because of its stright grain and light weight. Paulowina is also durable in terms of being decay resistant, with decent weathering characteristics too. This species is great for taking on a wide variety of glues, stains, and finishes well.

POPLAR

This species of tree is commonly used as a utility hardwood. Its colour is a white/tan, but can also range from greenish brown to dark green, purple, black, blue and yellow. This type of wood is straight grained and moderate to light in terms of weight. Due to it's build, it takes well to machines, glues, and a variety of finishes well. Yellow poplar is used in furniture, pallets, millwork, crates, construction grade lumber and plywood.
